About the Period Tracker app

The U by Kotex Period Tracker app is free to download and access all features.

The app is currently only available for iOS devices from the App Store. The Android version is coming soon so keep an eye out for future announcements.

The U by Kotex Period Tracker app uses the data you input about the dates of your last period and the length of your cycle to predict your next period. Tracking your period accurately and consistently will make the app’s predictions more precise, so you can feel confident knowing you’re prepared for your next cycle.

*Note: The information provided to you will be based on the data you choose to disclose and therefore depend on the amount and accuracy of your data inputs. Data supplied in app is secure and is accessible only to you..

The app calculates your period predictions and average cycle lengths by continuously analysing the data you record in the app. Most predictions and averages are based on a limited set of your past data. Predictions are based on data from your last twelve menstrual cycles, and average cycle lengths from your last six cycles. This calculation is used for cycle length, period length, PMS length, and when PMS is predicted to occur.

*Note: The information provided to you will be based on the data you choose to disclose and therefore depend on the amount and accuracy of your data inputs. Data supplied in app is secure and is accessible only to you.

Using the data you input each month, the app can accurately use your cycle history to predict your future period dates and patterns. The more accurately and consistently you log your period dates, the more precise the app’s predictions will be. The app is designed to provide general information to you about menstrual and reproductive health and related topics. Information provided to you will be based on the data you choose to disclose and therefore depend on the amount and accuracy of such data inputs by you.

Please note that nothing in this app is intended (and should be relied upon) as medical advice or to serve as a birth control method or contraception. For personal medical advice, birth control or contraceptive advice, you should always consult your health care professional.

Age limit and content

There is no age limit to use the app. However, access for users under the age of 18 will require the consent of a parent or guardian a sign up. Some in-app content will be restricted for users under the age of 18.

Content and features for tracking contraceptive usage, sexual activity and reminders for contraceptive use will not be visible to users under 18. Users under 18 can still track their symptoms and experiences and lifestyle habits, e.g., sleep, exercise and hydration, in the app.

How to use the app

  1. When you first sign up to the app, you’ll be asked to answer some questions about your period to complete the set up for the app:
    • When did your last period start?
    • What is the average length of your Period?
    • What is the average length of your menstrual cycle?
  2. Once you have answered the questions. Click Create Calendar.
  3. The app will generate your cycle dates in the calendar area of the main Period Tracker tab.

Important - tracking accurately and consistently makes the app’s predictions more precise – so you can feel confident knowing you’re in sync with your cycle.

*Note: The information provided to you will be based on the data you choose to disclose and therefore depend on the amount and accuracy of your data inputs. Data supplied in app is secure and is accessible only to you.

You can easily edit or delete information you have previously input into the app with these steps:
  1. On the Period Tracker tab, select Add/Edit Period Days.
  2. The red circles are the Period days you have previously entered. You can delete these period dates by tapping on the circles. Tapping on a date will select it as a period date in a red circle.
  3. Make sure to tap the Save button after you have finished updating your period information.

  1. Make sure you are on the first tab for Period Tracker. Select the Register Period Experiences button beneath the calendar.
  2. Select the symptoms and experiences that apple to the date you are logging.
  3. Select Save.
  4. The app will then load your logged symptoms and experiences in the reports viewable in the Reports tab.

  1. Select the Reminders tab from the footer.
  2. Select the reminder you would like to turn on and customise. You can choose from Event Reminders, Daily Reminders, Contaceptive Reminders (over 18 users only) and Product Reminders.
  3. Set the time of day you would like to receive your reminder.
  4. For repeating reminders, such as Water Intake and Product change reminders, you can also set how many reminders you want per day.
  5. Repeat this for all reminders you would like to set up.

Once you set up your reminders, they will appear as notifications on your phone’s home screen.

After setting up each reminder, you will see the time they have been set for, as well as an Edit button to the right. Click on the Edit button to change the reminder.

The predicted ovulation day that you see in the calendar will be indicated by a blue circle. The ovulation day is an estimate based on the period data your enter into the app each month. We recommend using the results of ovulation tests to determine your exact ovulation day and logging these in the app for the most accurate future predictions.

*Note: The information provided to you will be based on the data you choose to disclose and therefore depend on the amount and accuracy of your data inputs. Data supplied in app is secure and is accessible only to you.

As you enter your data into the app, you will see the trend graphs updating in the Reports tab. These patterns will help you understand more about your body and your cycle, and how to manage your unique moods and experiences.

Troubleshooting the app

  1. On the login screen, select Forgot Password.
  2. Enter your email address. You will be sent an email with instructions on how to reset your password.

If your cycle predictions seem inaccurate, it may be that an atypical cycle in your period history is affecting the app’s calculations. Experiences like pregnancy, miscarriage, use of emergency contraception, or using hormonal birth control to skip a period can lead to one of your cycles being much longer or shorter than what is typical for you. If you are new to getting your period, your cycle may also be inconsistent.

The U by Kotex Period Tracker app is designed to provide general information to you about menstrual and reproductive health and related topics. Information provided to you will be based on the data you choose to disclose and therefore depend on the amount and accuracy of such data inputs by you.

Nothing in this app is intended (and should be relied upon) as medical advice or to serve as a birth control method or contraception. For personal medical advice, birth control or contraceptive advice, please consult your health care professional.

To receive reminders from the Period Tracker app, make sure your notifications are enabled in your settings:

  1. Open the ‘Settings’ app on your iOS device.
  2. Select ‘Notifications’.
  3. Select ‘Period Tracker – U by Kotex’.
  4. Toggle on ‘Allow Notifications’.
  5. We recommend using all three type of alerts but you can customise this based on your preferences.

If you haven’t logged any period symptoms or experiences, you will not see any data in your trend graphs. Make sure to keep track of the experiences during your period to get updated graphs.
